Bookings can be checked-out in the following ways:

 

Selecting Check Out from the Booking Pane

Selecting a booking by either clicking on the Booking Area, or clicking on an entry in your My Bookings list will show the booking pane. From here, you can click the Check Out button.

Selecting Scan and Scanning an Item in the booking

Clicking the Scan button in the Top Bar (or pressing Space Bar - see Keyboard Shortcuts for more info) will make InstruManager listen for barcode scanner input.

All you need to do then is scan any item in your booking and the check-out window will open ready for you to complete your check-out.

If you are not signed in, or InstruManager is in Station Mode, you will be automatically signed in providing a password is not required. If your database is setup to use passwords, you will be prompted to enter your password, following which you will be taken to the Check-Out WIndow.

 

Check Out Window

The Check-Out Window shows you the information about your booking, such as time, address and details. It also shows you the items included in your booking. From here, you can either:

 

- Check-Out each item individually by checking the check box to the right of the item,

- Check-Out all items in one go by checking the 'All Items' check box,

- Check-Out each item using the barcode scanner  by clicking the 'Scan' button, and scanning the items' barcode when prompted.

 

Tip - Scanning an item not included in your booking at check-out will alert you that this is the case, and give the option to add it providing it is available. This means, for example, you can take a battery or cable from a general pool and scan it to add it to your booking at check-out time, without having to know which one you were going to take when creating your booking. If the item is not available, you will be alerted to allow you to choose another item.

 

Clicking OK will confirm the check out, and any Check-Out Messages set up for any equipment included in the booking will be displayed.

Items do not all need to be checked out at the same time, and until all items included in a booking have been checked out, the Check Out button will remain visible on the booking pane.

Once a booking has been checked out its start time can no longer be modified (except by Administrators), however its end time can still be modified until it is checked back in.
